Saw this beautiful Blue Fairy Wren when we stayed at the Warrumbungle National Park. They were named ‘Australian Bird of the year’ in 2021 after a survey conducted by Birdlife Australia. They are a small native bird to Australia that are super cute! During the mating season, to contrast with their blue feathers, males pluck yellow flower petals as part of a courtship display to lure a female wren.
