Gang Gang Cockatoo Coasters

I first discovered Gang Gang Cockatoos in my early 20’s when they were dropping seed pods on the roof of my kombi and I didnt know what they were! They were the reason I went to the next town and bought my first bird ident book! It always feels special to see a gang gang cockatoo and they are unfortunatly listed on the endangered category of the threatened species list. Nesting in tree hollows they rely on established old growth forests. The Gang Gang cockatoos name comes from a NSW aboriginal language. With grey bodies, the males have a bright red head and crest and the females’ fluffy crest is smaller and grey. Their call resembles a creaky door hinge.
